Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds a 6-digit code from an authenticator app to your sign-in. Your company may require it. You can also turn it on yourself in Settings > Security.

What you need

An authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.

Steps

1. Go to Settings > Security and select Add authenticator. If your company requires 2FA, this screen appears automatically when you sign in.

2. Give the device a name in Name this authenticator, for example "My iPhone".

3. Select Continue.

4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can't scan it, type in the key shown under Can't scan? Enter this key:.

5. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and select Verify and turn on.

6. You'll see Authenticator added.

Add a backup authenticator (recommended)

VendScout doesn't provide recovery codes. Your backup is a second authenticator:

1. Go to Settings > Security.

2. Select Add backup authenticator and repeat the steps above on a second device or password manager.

Signing in with 2FA

After you enter your password, type the current 6-digit code and select Verify. If you see "That code didn't work," wait for the next code in your app and try again.

Lost your device?

Ask an Owner or Admin at your company to reset your 2FA. See [Lost access to your authenticator app].
